What is Neurofeedback?
Neurofeedback is basically a way to exercise your brain, which eventually leads to better self-regulation and performance. The technique is non-invasive and is actually pretty enjoyable for most. During the session, clients watch a show or play a game while small electrodes read their brainwave activity. If the brain is doing what we are hoping to encourage, we ‘reward’ the brain by providing subtle visual, auditory and/or tactile feedback. Simply put, if you reward the brain for doing certain things, it will do more of it and if you ignore the brain for doing certain things, it will do less of it.
Neurofeedback has been shown to help ‘rewire’ the brain over time, resulting in permeant improvements that the brain will naturally reinforce on its own.
Neurofeedback can help with a variety of issues, including: behavioral health (ADHD, autism, depression, anxiety, PTSD, impulsivity, addiction, etc.); physical health (headaches, blood pressure regulation, diabetes support, seizures, pain, autoimmune issues, TBI, etc.); and even peak performance (concentration, focus, emotional control).
